Test JioFiber over Ethernet
Connect your computer directly to the Jio router with a LAN cable and pause other devices. This removes Wi-Fi interference and shows the speed reaching your home.
Check your JioFiber, Jio AirFiber or Jio 5G connection with a real browser-based test covering download, upload, ping, jitter and packet loss.
Jio offers several very different connection types in India: wired JioFiber, wireless Jio AirFiber and mobile Jio 5G. Each has its own speed profile, latency and variability, so the same broadband plan name does not guarantee the same result in every home.
This test measures download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter and packet loss against Cloudflare’s nearest edge server. Use it to compare your real connection with your plan, and repeat the test at different times to separate normal peak-hour variation from a persistent problem.
| Connection or plan | Typical download | Typical upload | Typical latency |
|---|---|---|---|
| JioFiber 30–100 Mbps | 30–100 Mbps | 24–80 Mbps | Low, typically under 10 ms |
| JioFiber 150–500 Mbps | 150–500 Mbps | 120–400 Mbps | Low, typically under 10 ms |
| JioFiber 1 Gbps | Up to 1 Gbps | Up to 1 Gbps | Low, typically under 10 ms |
| Jio AirFiber / Jio 5G | Plan and signal dependent, up to 1 Gbps | Usually lower than download | Typically 18–50 ms, more variable |
Figures are based on published Jio plan speeds and typical fibre and wireless performance in India. Actual speed varies by technology, plan, location, signal quality, tower load, Wi-Fi, data limits and time of day. AirFiber and 5G are shared wireless services and can fluctuate more than fibre.
Connect your computer directly to the Jio router with a LAN cable and pause other devices. This removes Wi-Fi interference and shows the speed reaching your home.
For Jio AirFiber or mobile 5G, place the device near a window or where signal is strongest. Test close to the router on the 5 GHz band and avoid thick walls.
Check the speed included in your plan and whether any fair-use limit applies. Run the test at different times, including the evening, with VPNs and background downloads switched off.
JioFiber is a dedicated wired line and is usually the most stable. Jio AirFiber and Jio 5G share radio capacity, so their speed and latency can change with signal strength and local demand.
Wireless connections are more sensitive to congestion. Streaming, gaming and work calls in your neighbourhood can reduce throughput and increase jitter in the evening.
Your plan’s speed cap, any fair-use data threshold, an older router, a long cable run or weak Wi-Fi can limit the result. Test over Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi before contacting support.

Test My Speed NowLast updated:
JioFiber plans range from around 30 Mbps to 1 Gbps download, with published typical upload speeds from roughly 24 Mbps on the entry plan to 400 Mbps on the 500 Mbps plan. Fibre upload is usually much closer to download than on wireless connections, and latency is typically low.
Your actual result depends on the plan, router, Wi-Fi, in-home wiring and network conditions. Run the test above over Ethernet to see the speed reaching your home.
Connect your phone or computer to the Jio AirFiber router or Jio 5G network, close background downloads and VPNs, and run the test above. For AirFiber, test near the indoor unit and avoid thick walls; for 5G, test where the signal is strongest.
Run the test two or three times at different hours. Wireless speed can fall during peak periods, so compare the results rather than relying on a single reading.
Evening slowdowns usually come from congestion on shared wireless capacity, a fair-use data limit, background streaming or weak Wi-Fi. JioFiber can also be affected by a busy home network or a router that is overheating or outdated.
Test over Ethernet, pause other devices and check your plan’s data threshold. If the speed stays low for several days, save your test results and contact Jio support.
